WANROOETECH provides a unique IBC recycling machine and drum shredder designed and tailored to meet your needs.
Our plastic barrel drum shredder reduces the volume of waste plastic drums, greatly lowering transportation and storage costs. This shredder plays an important role in the efficient and low-cost recycling process of waste plastic drums, totes and barrels.
Plastic barrel drum shredder with hydraulic force feeder is available to actively press the input material down into the cutting zone between the two shearing shafts. This holding action prevents material from riding over the blade hooks, thus greatly improving the cutting efficiency and throughput of the machine.
How do I properly dispose of and recycle IBCs?
The first step in waste disposal or recycling is usually shredding – and so it is with IBCs. Medium-sized bulk bins, plastic garbage cans and containers can also be fed into the hopper of the plastic drum shredder in bales via conveyor, crane or forklift without manual preparation. This plastic is pressed against the rotating rotor by hydraulic cylinders and uniformly shredded to uniform particle size. Depending on the application and customer requirements, the wanrooetech twin-shaft shredder can shred medium-sized bulk containers to a particle size of 60 – 80 mm. This is ideal for further processing. Discharge is usually carried out via a conveyor belt to the next process step.
If required, the shredder for recovery of oversized containers can be equipped with a secondary compacting device. This means that even large hollow objects (e.g. cans) can be shredded reliably.
IBC Recycling Plastic Barrel Drum Shredder Applications:
Plastic barrel shredder is mainly used for shredding and recycling of various waste household appliances shells, plastic barrels, oil drums and various plastic pipe materials in the market. Plastic barrel shredder can shred various plastic barrel materials at one time to obtain smaller size plastic blocks, while the plastic barrel shredder is equipped with dust removal equipment and sorting and separation equipment, which can effectively separate metals, plastics and other impurities, facilitating users to classify waste materials and meet the conditions for plastic recycling.
IBC Recycling Plastic Barrel Drum Shredder Working Principle:
Plastic barrel shredder is composed of conveyor belt, shredder main machine, feeding machine, magnetic separation equipment, dust collector and other parts. After starting the machine, all kinds of plastic barrel products are fed by the feeding machine and conveyor belt to enter the shredding cavity of the twin shaft shredder, and are shredded by the strong shredder of plastic barrel to form plastic scraps, after which they are transported by the conveyor belt and screened by the magnetic separator to complete the sorting of metal and iron materials, and if necessary, they can be further sorted by the eddy current sorter for different metals, and then during the production process, the dust removal equipment has been running, extracting the dust pollution that can be produced in the production process.
What happens to the crushed barrels and containers?
After shredding, the plastic flakes are washed and dried in a washing plant. These can then be recycled into re-granules in a recycling extruder. The granulated plastic scrap can be reused in production, for example for pallets or corner guards. This not only represents a huge cost saving potential, but is also completely sustainable in the sense of a circular economy.
From hazardous material containers to raw materials
Medium-sized bulk containers are also approved for the transport of dangerous goods. However, transporting corrosive substances, such as corrosive solutions, solvents or acids, always poses a challenge for logisticians: the correct handling of the containers. When it comes to the environmentally friendly recycling of such contaminated waste, the aggressiveness of the material is crucial. For this reason, wanrooetech offers particularly robust shredding solutions, such as the wear-resistant design of individual machine components.
While clean plastic containers can be recycled without washing, it is especially important for recycling facilities for contaminated IBCs to clean the shredded plastic flakes before further use. This is done with the help of washing equipment. There, the flakes are washed and dried. Subsequently, a special degassing extruder ensures uniform pellet quality.
